06 · Approach to technology
Deliberate, boring where it should be.
Technology choices are made against the shape of the problem. We favour mature tools, small services, strong contracts, and dependencies that are likely to still be supported a decade from now. Novelty is reserved for the parts of a system that genuinely benefit from it.
07 · Approach to security
Security threaded through the work.
Security is not a phase or a separate deliverable — it is woven into architecture, code review, deployment and operation. Threat modelling happens early, secrets are handled explicitly, and third-party dependencies are kept under active hygiene.
Where regulatory requirements apply, they are treated as design inputs from the beginning rather than as compliance debt at the end.
08 · Approach to quality
Tests describe intent.
Automated tests are treated as the executable version of what the system is supposed to do. Coverage is designed alongside code, run on every change, and used as a shared source of confidence for people who did not write the code themselves.
09 · Collaboration philosophy
Work in the open, in writing.
The company works inside its clients' environments — shared repositories, shared boards, shared documents. Decisions of consequence are written down. Handovers are continuous rather than a single dramatic event at the end of an engagement.

Craftspeople, not gladiators.
The people who work at ICE AGE ICE GmbH are senior technologists who value quiet competence over performance, and long attention spans over constant reinvention. We hire slowly, staff carefully, and expect the same standards of care from every engagement.
We do not publish the names of individual practitioners on this website; team composition is discussed with prospective clients directly, in the context of the work being considered.
11 · Long-term client value
A system that survives our departure.
The most useful thing the company can leave behind is a codebase, an infrastructure and a documentation trail that a competent internal team can continue to operate confidently. We optimise for the moment the engagement ends, not the moment it begins.
12 · Responsible technology
Restraint, by default.
We treat personal data conservatively, question the need for every tracking mechanism, and prefer systems that ask for consent where it is meaningful. Interfaces are built to be accessible from the first commit, not retrofitted later.
